2011 A New Year

This is my new 2011 Cupcakes ^_^ calendar. I don't know about you, but a new year always brings conviction on my life and it also brings hope! As one year ends and a new one approaches, I am forced to see my failures, shortcomings and unreached goals of this past year. I have to confront them head on and accept that I didn't reach the mark in some areas. Then I have to act upon that by looking at the situation and fixing whatever it is that's hindering me from being the lady, wife & mother, God, wants me to be and I want to be.
Each new year brings a new start to get it right. Really each day is a new beginning. Don't be too hard on yourself. Take on one thing or issue at a time. When I sat down to make a list of things I wasn't happy about and that I knew needed changing, it was a bit overwhelming to say the least. Right now I'm just taking one thing at a time and dealing with it...maybe two but, that's it! It's hard enough to start a new habit, let alone try to add 20 new habits to the board.
Let's face it! We should be working on ourselves 12 months out of the year, not just the first two ;) It's a good idea to sit down at the end of each month and ask yourself....did I accomplish what I set out to do? If you didn't then try to reach your goal the next month. Don't let past failure discourage you either. We are imperfect beings, unable to reach perfection. Remember that! Just do your best and accept your best :)
I also have some inspiring goals such as...places I want to visit, things I want my children to experience, hopes & dreams for the year ahead and beyond. These will keep me going and give me a vision to press toward.

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Prov. 29:18

Get a great vision of the year ahead and make it happen :)

Happy New Year!
