Blackberry Jelly

Here are a few "picks" of our labor...
I skipped posting the actual making of the jelly because this is the first time I've made it and I didn't feel comfortable with the process yet. I will post the "How To" blog next time and the link I used for my recipe is here.

My daughter and I picked all the berries with a little help from my sons Jon & Joel. We love our free fruit that God has given us ;) It took a while to get all of the seeds out but I did it using a blender then sieving the berries. That process was a little daunting and it takes quite a few berries to make 3 3/4 cups without the seeds. I didn't have enough for what the recipe called for. Only 2 cups after sieving 2 3/4 cups berries blended. So I had to tweak the recipe a bit and I'm so happy with this batch. I added 2 cups sieved berries, 2 cups of sugar, and one pack of Sure jell, then followed the rest of the recipe above. It made a little over 3 jars! My kids are eating it like crazy and it's a beautiful spread.

This jelly set so well and it tastes very yummy!!! So try it for yourself. It's not as hard as you may think :)
